
About Us
In 1952, Jack Bartels founded the firm originally known as H. Jack Bartel & Associates, making it one of the pioneering insurance agencies in the world dedicated exclusively to the aviation sector. He carefully selected Mount Vernon as the firm’s headquarters, largely due to its central location in a state that was home to one of the most vibrant private and general aviation regions in the USA at that time. In 1968, Noel Parrish joined the agency, followed by Peter O’Neill in 1972 just as Mr. Bartels was transitioning into retirement. David Rigg became part of the team in 1988, shortly before Mr. Parrish retired a few years later. Scott Kennedy joined the firm in 1998, experiencing his own transition when Mr. O’Neill retired a year later. Mr. Rigg eventually retired in 2021, and today, Scott is joined by Kory, Jen and Mary, positioning the firm to continue delivering exceptional service to our clients.
Entering our 8th decade, we proudly reflect on a journey that not many firms in this industry can claim. We’ve been around this block a few times, encountering a diverse array of challenges and triumphs along the way. Currently, the leadership at Parrish-O'Neill represents the firm’s 5th generation.
